Instructions for CD Baby Artists

Thanks to our partnerships with CD Baby and MySpace, SNOCAP MyStores have been created automatically for CD Baby artists and are ready to be integrated on artists’ MySpace pages. If you are a CD Baby artist and haven’t already integrated your MyStore on your MySpace page, here are the instructions for doing so.

  1. Go to http://www.myspace.com/ and log in to your MySpace page.
  2. On your MySpace profile home page, click the “Create Your MySpace Music Store” link.

If it’s not there, that might be because you indicated something other than “Unsigned”, “Indie” or “None” as your record label type. There’s a note below on how to change this.
  3. A page describing the SNOCAP MyStore is displayed. Click the link that says “Set Up My Store” to go to the next page.
  4. A SNOCAP log in page is shown. Underneath the big orange “Sign Up Now” button (don’t click it!) is a section labeled “Already Registered?” with a place to enter your email address and password.

CD Baby has already sent you your email address and password to use to log into SNOCAP (subject line “Your SNOCAP + MySpace link-up”)! If you have not received this email from CD Baby, contact them now to get it.

Enter the email address and password sent to you by CD Baby and click “Go”.

  5. To keep things secure, you are asked to change the default password to something that you’ll remember. The screen will say “Your existing password has expired. Please enter a new password.” Enter a new password in both lines, then click [CONTINUE].
  6. Now that you have a new password, use it to log in. The screen says “Your password has been changed. You may now log in with your new password.” Click “log in”.
  7. Enter that same email address but the new password you just created.
  8. You are now presented with your SNOCAP MyStores. The screen says “Embed your music store on your MySpace profile page!” You actually have two stores you can use—they both contain the same tracks to start with. Pick the first one from the pull down menu.
  9. The MyStore that you picked is displayed for you on the screen. Click [CONTINUE TO SNOCAP] at the bottom of the screen.

That’s it! Within 20-30 minutes, your SNOCAP MyStore will appear on your MySpace page.

If the “Create Your MySpace Music Store” doesn’t appear on your MySpace profile

MySpace only displays the “Create Your MySpace Music Store” link for unsigned artists. If this link doesn’t show up for you, check the label type you’ve specified in your MySpace profile. Here’s how to change it.

  1. Go to http://www.myspace.com/ and log in
  2. Click “edit profile” – to the right of your photo
  3. Click the top tab that says [Band Details]
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the (Edit) link to the right of “Label Type”
  5. Where it says “Type of Record Label”, from the pull-down menu, choose “Unsigned”, then click [Preview]. (You can change it back later, after this link-up is done)
  6. Next it will say “Type of Record Label Preview”, click [Submit]
  7. Something should pop up and say “Changes will be made within 24 hours”. Click OK to that.

When you return to your profile home, the “Create Your MySpace Music Store” link should appear in the top-left section of the page.

Editing MyStore Settings in your SNOCAP Account

If you want to make changes to your SNOCAP MyStore, use the email address and password sent to you by CD Baby to log in to SNOCAP (http://www.snocap.com).

  • • Click [Sell Your Music] tab at the top, and then “Edit Store Settings” on the left.
  • • If you want to remove some songs from your store, go to the bottom of the page where it says “Tracks in this Store” and click “delete” to the right of any track. The tracks aren’t actually deleted, just hidden in the store, so you can add them back later if you want.
  • • You can also change the order of the tracks in the store by clicking and dragging them in the “Store Contents” table at the bottom of the page.
  • • Click the “Save Changes” button at the top of the page when you’re done making changes.
